MissT: Tell us, how did you and your brothers get started in the business?

Kofi Siriboe: When I was 7 years old my brothers and I were approached by an agent in the mall but right away my mom thought it was scam and we basically blew the lady off. The agent was persistent though and after some research we came to find out she was actually legit. I went on to do print ads and commercials. After a several years of continued work I wanted to expand so just a couple years ago I ventured out into TV and movies and I now I’m hooked (laughs).

MissT: Who/what has been the biggest inspiration to you and how?

Kofi Siriboe: God has definitely been the biggest inspiration for me throughout my entire journey. I feel he has blessed me with so many gifts and talents in my life that I can’t be wasteful so I keep striving to better myself and be the best I can be. My parents inspires me as well with the fact that they’re always there for me no matter what the situation and I’ll always love them for that. As far as actors I’m particularly inspired by Idris Elba for being a great actor and a good role model. I think I relate to him a little more because he is from Ghana and doing so well with his career as well. He makes me challenge myself to be that person that somebody can one day say what I’m saying about him.

MissT: Are you pleased with the progression of your career? Mainly are you glad to be working in the tv/movie industry as of now or do you ever see yourself wanting to do something totally different or more traditional?

Kofi Siriboe: I’m more than pleased really. I’ve been blessed with so much and I honestly can say I never expected it all. Gods timing is like no other so what ever it is he has in store for my future will continue to come out when he thinks I’m ready. I’m definitely happy with my career and can’t see myself doing anything else. I would like to venture out and tap into other aspects of the entertainment industry but I do love where I’m at right now.

MissT: So I know you have some Ghanaian roots… when’s the last time you’ve been to Ghana, what do you enjoy doing when vacationing there, and what’s your favorite African dish?

Kofi Siriboe: I actually have not been able to go back to Ghana yet. I am definitely planning a trip for this year! As I’ve gotten older it’s really been important for me to keep in touch with my roots and family back home. I have grown up with the same up bringing though and might as well have been raised in Ghana. I have to say my all time favorite food, African or American, is Fufu & Light Soup. Literally I don’t think I can survive without it (laughs).

MissT: Let me ask you about any current projects? What are you currently working on now? Any television appearances or Charity/community service activities?

Kofi Siriboe: Well recently I got some great news that I booked a new Disney film called “PROM” which is their next big franchise so I’m really excited for that. I think I’ll have a lot of fun on set and I’m looking forward to it! I know Disney always does it big(laughs). My brothers and I have also decided to start a charity foundation that we’re really excited to get working on. My parents have always taught us to give back and we feel like now couldn’t be a better time. Right now everything is being finalized but stay tuned for more details with that!

MissT: What are some of your favorite past times or hobbies, things you do for fun?

Kofi Siriboe: I love songwriting! I’ve never been the singer so I wanted to do something with music that would still be fun for me and it turns out I’m really good at it (laughs). I’ve never been that kid who liked video games so my brothers always think I’m so weird (laughs). I just need a computer and I’ll be good.

MissT: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? What are some of your goals?

Kofi Siriboe: 10 years from now I hope to be an established movie star with a successful and steady career. I would love to get behind the camera and develop my own projects and give people like myself more opportunities. I also love fashion and music so I can see myself doing things with that in the future as well. Traveling the world and inspiring young people with my brothers is something I’m looking forward to as well. I can go on for days (laughs).

MissT: What words of encouragement would you give your fans of color who are interested in getting into the entertainment business?

Kofi Siriboe: I’d say if it’s something you really are passionate about and you aren’t doing it for the money or fame, you should definitely follow your heart and just go for it. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication so you have to be prepared to fight for your dream. It’s not easy but nothing that’s worth fighting for is. Stay focused, be persistent and keep God close. You’ll be good.Miss T:  Thanks for the interview Kofi.  Good luck with your career and stay in touch!!
