This story made my eyes water a little bit!
Whitmer graduate and Pro basketball player Nigel Hayes paid it forward to his parents in a huge way when he surprised them by paying off their mortgage. He wrote a touching letter to his mother Talaya Davis and her husband Albert Davis, his stepfather who raised him and his siblings as his own.
To Mr. Davis he wrote “-Thank you for treating us as if we are your very own children. Who knows what are lives would be like if we didn’t have you.”
Further along, Nigel wrote to his mother: “Thank you for being, everything. “
Nigels mom posted the awesome news on Twitter to share.
Thank You Nigel!

You never cease to amaze us.
We love you!😘
No child was harmed after this video…but there may be a situation when he comes home. 🤣
*Make sure you read his beautiful letter. pic.twitter.com/XljOS7WRe6
After graduating from Whitmer High School, he went on to the University of Wisconsin. Now, Hayes plays professionally in the Lithuanian Basketball League.
What a wonderful gesture, am I right?
