Simmons was a successful rapper and actor, starring in movies such as “Romeo Must Die”, “Belly”, and “Cradle to the Grave.” His album entitled “It’s Dark and Hell is Hot” sold 251,000 copies within its first week of release in 1998.
My condolences to all of his family, friends and loved ones.
April 4: Rapper DMX is critically ill after overdosing and suffering a heart attack friday night, TMZ is reporting.
50 Year old Earl Simmons, has been rapping for over 20 years and is a legend to many. He is extremely talented in his craft and highly respected by his peers in music as well as his fans. Sadly, he has also struggled with drug addition and substance abuse off and on for many years. He last checked into rehab back in 2019.
Reports are saying that he was taken off of life support earlier today at a White Plains, New York Hospital, but he remains in a “vegetative state” and “it’s not looking good.”
Please God, protect DMX man. pic.twitter.com/9PBRjM6pLJ

I’ll be praying for this man and I hope that you would too. As like many of us, he has had many struggles. He is one of the very few secular rappers that I listened to as a teenager that would actually speak about God, share his love for God, and rap about God. Check out the video I’ve linked below, to Lord Give me a Sign, just one of his many hits. I’m confident that he knows that God is able and I pray for Mr. Simmon’s comfort throughout this entire ordeal, and that that the Lord’s Will be done in his life.
I’ll update this post as more information develops.
