The ongoing situation in Minneapolis (read more about that here) has been weighing heavy on my heart so I just wanted to make a small post with a sincere request. Let’s please take a moment to pray for the state of our Country, for race relations, for our police departments and for an end to violence.

1: Our country needs prayer because to be honest, as the years go in it’s not getting better – things are getting worse. There is so much violence and danger all around us. It’s absolutely scary! Without faith, one could easily backslide and lose themselves with all the negativity going around. No one seems exempt from the dangers of this world.

2: The race relations currently in this country is awful! Sure, there has been a whole lot of progress in this country, but let me remind you that there is still a lot of evil in this world as well. For the life of me, I cannot understand how anyone can hate another person because of the way that they look or the color of their skin – but this is a sad reality for a lot of people all over the world – not just America, and they are teaching their children to hate others as well. Bigots and racists need prayer badly, so lets give it to them. I hope that people who think horribly of any of God’s children can one day wake up before it’s too late and realize how wrong they have been.

3: The police need prayer too. There are some that truly are out there to try to make a difference, and then there are those who are are cops because they love the feeling of power. Anytime a cop feels comfortable putting his hands in his pockets, while applying his full body weight on a cuffed man’s neck, and ignoring the fact that he is struggling to breath – scratch that, ignoring the fact he has passed out and is suffocating under said knee – THERE IS A PROBLEM!!! Let us pray that those who truly care for us as citizens, desire to make a positive difference in ALL communities AND believes in protecting and serving US all, earn these valuable positions. Those that don’t should find another job.

4: Let’s pray for an end to the violence sprouting out all over the country. It’s never ending. It’s heartbreaking. It’s tiring. It’s draining. It’s hurtful. It’s painful. It’s unnecessary. It’s costly. It’s horrendous.

Lord help us all. Help us to become better people. Help us to learn how to love. Help us to heal emotionally, physically, and mentally. Bring peace to this land. Give the grieving comfort. Please forgive us for our sins. Protect us from Evil. Let your will be done. In Jesus’ name.
