Today marks the official end of the McDonald’s Monopoly game (redeeming the codes and free food from the game, specifically), and honestly, I feel like we should all gather in a circle and share our best memories. Because this year’s game was an experience. A journey. A season of fries, surprises, disappointments, and spiritual lessons wrapped in crispy paper.
Some of us were peeling stickers on our lunch breaks like they were scratch offs–OKAY, that would be ME.
Some of us were scanning codes like we were getting paid by the hour.
And some of us, let’s be truthful, were full blown detectives trying to figure out every trick possible.
And yes, the tricks were tricking.
My PeacockTV Blessing That Turned Into a Trial
The last time McDonalds held the Monopoly game, it was 2016, so it’s been a good minute. I honestly can’t remember winning anything that year. Then this year, Monopoly game at McDonald’s ran from October 6 to November 2, 2025, and you were able to continue to add and redeem your codes until November 23, 2025. This time around, I actually won alot of things. Tons of free food and drinks (most of it I didn’t even redeem) … I also won a whole free month of PeacockTV and a twenty-dollar Uber Eats gift card. The Uber Eats gift card came through like a faithful friend. Blessing received.
Peacock? Oh no. Peacock humbled me.
I redeemed the code with full excitement. I was planning a little quiet evening with snacks, a blanket, and some shows. But when it came time for it to activate, there was an error. A real stubborn error. And once the code was redeemed, that was it. No redoing it. No resetting it. No customer service angel swooping down with a fresh code. Just a useless blessing sitting there like decorative disappointment.
But hey, at least one of my prizes decided to cooperate. Thank you to that twenty dollar Uber Eats card for respecting my authority and my hunger.
The Kiosk Trick. Yes, I Saw Y’all.
Now let’s talk about something that truly took me out this month. The “Kiosk Trick.”
People discovered that if you ordered from the kiosk inside the restaurant instead of the app, you could get your free reward printed immediately without waiting for the fifteen-minute cooldown between codes.
Folks were out here with notebooks full of stickers like they were preparing for finals. People had strategies, routines, and scientific methods. Some even posted step by step tutorials like they were breaking into the Pentagon. Ok I’m clearly embellishing a bit BUT you get the idea.
I cannot even lie. It was creative. It was resourceful. It was… a little too efficient. But hey, people were getting their free nuggets.
The Free Food Helped More Than We Realize
And here is something real that I cannot ignore.
All jokes aside, this promotion actually helped a lot of people this year.
The cost of living has been heavy. Grocery prices are up. Families are stretched thin. Many people were struggling to afford simple meals. So, a free double cheeseburger or a free fry wasn’t just a cute win. It was real help.
There were people feeding their kids off Monopoly wins.
Parents stretching their budgets because stickers kept giving them meals.
College students surviving off free McChickens.
Folks between paychecks finding a moment of relief because of a free coffee or sandwich.
This silly little game eased the load for thousands of people this month. It fed people who needed it. And I am grateful even for that.
When Temporary Wins Make Us Reflect
The funny part is how quickly we grow attached to small wins. A free fry feels like a joyful moment in the middle of a stressful week. A free drink feels like a pat on the back. And even a free sandwich can feel like encouragement when life is wearing you down.
But here is the truth.
Temporary blessings cannot sustain us long term.
They feel good in the moment. They give us a spark. But they fade. They run out. They expire. They malfunction. And sometimes, like my Peacock code, they do not work at all.
And yet, God’s blessings are nothing like that. Now ya’ll knowwwwww by now that I had to add a little message about God in this, lol!!!!
God’s Blessings Do Not Glitch, Error, or Expire
McDonald’s will give you freebies.
But God gives you provision that lasts.
A promotion will end.
But God’s love does not.
A sticker will win you a sandwich.
But God will give you peace in the middle of real storms.
When the Monopoly game ends, God’s grace keeps going. His gifts do not depend on luck or chance. His blessings do not require fifteen minute timers, kiosk tricks, or peeling stickers. When He gives something, it lands, it sticks, and it sustains.
Here is what I learned this past month from visiting of all places… MCDONALDS.
- Temporary wins are fun but not fulfilling.
They give you excitement, not peace. - Man made blessings can glitch or fail.
See: PeacockTV. Enough said. - God’s blessings are stable.
If He gives it, it is intentional and dependable. - People needed that free food more than we knew.
God can use anything. Even a fast food promotion. - Even silly moments hold spiritual meaning.
If you pay attention, God will speak through a free fry.
Now That the Game Is Over…
The stickers are gone.
The hype is over.
The kiosk lines are calm again.
The free food wave has crashed.
But God’s provision has not slowed down.
His compassion has not ended.
His protection has not expired.
His blessings are not seasonal.
This year’s Monopoly game was a mix of humor, frustration, unexpected generosity, and real reflection. It fed people. It made people smile. It made some people strategic. And it taught me a few spiritual lessons wrapped in a whole lot of laughter.
Because at the end of the day, freebies are temporary.
But grace is not. Happy Sunday, yall! Hope you have a wonderful day!
