Would you “re-home” a child that you adopted?

I’m posing this question because this is exactly what Youtube Vlogger Myka Stauffer and her husband did because they were overwhelmed with his medical needs. They adopted their 3 year old son back in 2017 as an infant and have made money documenting their family which includes three of their own biological children as well, on YouTube.

Stauffer stated in their latest video explaining the situation, that they had not shared 99% – 95% of Huxley’s struggles publicly in order to respect his privacy. Huxley has autism. “After multiple assessments, after multiple evaluations, numerous medical professionals have felt that he needed a different fit in his medical needs” Myka mentioned tearfully.

In mentioning Huxley’s “new forever family”, the Youtuber also stated that his new mother has medical professional training and is a really good fit.

Even though I have never heard of this couple or their Youtube channel before, I am saddened by the thought of giving up any child. I can only hope that their boy’s new home is one filled with love, light, compassion and support – more than ever before.
